fits in seamlessly with your operation, able to remove or service existing oil tanks while you replace heating systems or furnaces.
We offer services for your customers as they convert away from oil heat, from product removal to tank decommissioning. We recommend that your customers at least have remaining oil in their tank pumped out so that future tank corrosion will not lead to loss of product and contaminated soil. A step further is a tank cleaning, which would be performed anyway if the tank were to be decommissioned. With product pumping and sludge removal, a tank can remain in the ground for some time. UAI can also perform decommissioning work after your customer is converted from oil heat, to ensure that there is not a contamination issue in the future..
Another important point is to determine if your conversion customers in Washington state have their tanks covered with free insurance from the
Pollution Liability Insurance Agency (PLIA). If your customer’s tank is insured, they have thirty (30) days to report a leak to PLIA in order to have their potential cleanup costs covered by the free insurance policy. In most cases, PLIA insurance will cover all cleanup costs.
We have had customers with PLIA coverage who converted from oil, disconnected their tank from their furnace and found out later that they waited too long to make a claim… meaning that they paid cleanup costs out of their pockets.
